Tabin has several mud volcanoes and salt-water springs that are high in minerals of importance to wildlife. Tabin's rich bio-diversity contains many significant flora and fauna, many of which are endemic to Borneo. There is a small breeding population of the highly endangered Sumatran Rhinoceros. A healthy population of Borneo Pygmy elephants is found in Tabin and they frequently visit the mud volcanoes. Orangutan and other primates are plentiful and there is a large variety of carnivores, including the Honey bear and the
rare Clouded leopard. The area also has herds of deer, wild boar, civet cats, red leaf monkeys, pig tail macaque and long tailed macaque.

Day 01 Kota Kinabalu / Lahad Datu / Tabin Wildlife Reserve (L/D)
Transfer from Lahad Datu to Tabin Wildlife Reserve on gravel road. Journey takes about an hour. Upon arrival, register, unpack and rest. In the afternoon, visit the Lipad mud volcano located nearest to Tabin base. After trekking through the jungle for 20 minutes, arrive at the elevated bare area of the mud volcano known to be frequented by deer, wild boars, elephants and birds. Look out for and identify footprints of animals. If you are feeling adventurous you can experiment with the effect of the volcanic mud, which is said to be responsible for fine skin complexion. Dinner followed by the night activities to look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds.

Day 02 Tabin Wildlife Reserve (B/L/D)
Trek through the lush green jungle known for its rich diversity of plants and animal species to visit Lipad's Waterfall. Take a dip in the natural pool and enjoy the refreshing splash coming down from the waterfall. Alternatively explore the surrounding vegetation or just relax. At dusk, go bird watching within the reserve. After dinner, enjoy the night activity of looking out for nocturnal wildlife and birds. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included).

Day 03 Tabin Wildlife Reserve / Lahad Datu / Kota Kinabalu (B/L)
After breakfast, stroll to the nearby rock pool or river side. Choose to take a dip in the water or simply immerse yourself in nature. After lunch, depart Tabin Wildlife Reserve. (Breakfast and lunch included)
