Overview:
This program is packed with adventure. Be it camping on an island or on the mountain ranges or even on the thick green lush jungle in Borneo. Mountain trekking, eco-tour, cultural and traditional experience first hand, and on top of that, a chance to live among the locals while doing some volunteer work to add that extra-ordinary experience in Sabah Borneo. Day 1 (Month 1): ARRIVAL KOTA KINABALU
Arrive KKIA. Meet and transfer to your accommodation and the rest of the day free at own
leisure. Overnight stay at Nest Cottage Home
Day 2 (Month 1): KOTA KINABALU / LOK KAWI (B/L)
Meet and proceed for city tour and get orientated with the city's places of interest. Visit Lok
Kawi Wildlife Park located 25km South West of Kota Kinabalu. The park covers about 280 acres
and has more than 100 species of mammals including birds, which are kept in captivity. Among
the highlights are Orang Utan, Proboscis monkey, Gibbons, Elephants, Tigers, Otters, birds like
hornbills and many others. Overnight stay at Nest Cottage Home
Day 3 (Month 1): KOTA KINABALU / KUDAT (B/L/D)
Check out and depart early for Kudat via Tuaran to arrive at Bavanggazo Rungus Longhouse
and check in. Enjoy fresh coconut drink and mingle with the friendly natives including their
children. in the evening, enjoy a traditional-style dinner followed by colourful cultural
performance by the local Rungus community. Learn some the Rungus background as the head
villageman is ever ready to answer any question pertaining to cultures, traditions and

Day 4 (Month 1): KUDAT / TIP OF BORNEO (B/L/D)
Wake up in the morning by the calls from the rooster, pack up, breakfast and continue your
journey to the tip of Borneo and be thrilled with the breathtaking views of the South China Sea
and Sulu Sea. Spend the day on the white sandy beaches and thereafter continue to visit
traditional longhouses on your way returning to accommodation. Overnight at Bavanggazo

Day 5 (Month 1): KUDAT / SANDAKAN / SEPILOK (B/L)
Check out and drive overland to Sandakan to reach Sepilok and check in to your
accommodation. Overnight at Sepilok Hostel
Day 6 (Month 1): SEPILOK (B)
After breakfast, proceed for orientation programs with the park's ranger before heading to
the platform to view the feeding of Orangutan. Continue to explore the tropical rainforest as
you walk to the waterholes and bird watching platform. Rest of the day, you are free to view
documentary show on the rehabilitation programs at the mini-theatre. Overnight at Sepilok
Hostel
Day 7 (Month 1): SEPILOK (B)
Walk to the nearby Rainforest Interpretation Center and learn the many species of timber
including the "ion-wood" of Borneo. Evening, proceed for night jungle walk with the park ranger
to observe nocturnal animals found in the Sepilok sanctuary. Overnight at Sepilok Hostel
Day 8 (Month 1): SEPILOK / BILIT (B/L/D)
Check out and walk to the main road for public transportation to Sukau village in the
Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary. On arrival, check in and explore the "Orang Sungai" native
village. 4pm begin your two river safari in search for wildlife including the long nose monkey as
they settle down for the night along the river. Overnight stay at Bilit Homestay
Day 9 (Month 1): BILIT (B/L/D)
6am early morning cruise in the misty Kinabatangan river to Ox Bow lake in search for more
wildlife including wild Orangutan and Borneon Pygmy Elephant (seasonal). Rest of the
afternoon free. 4pm another river cruise to Resang river in search for more wildlife. OPTIONAL:
Night River Cruise (charges between MYR 65.00pp-MYR 80.00pp). Overnight stay at Bilit

Day 10 (Month 1): BILIT / RANAU / PORING (B/L)
Check out and transfer to Poring in Ranau District. Arrive Poring (part of Kinabalu Park-UNESCO
World Heritage Site) and check in homestay. Explore the surrounding tropical rainforest and
rest of the day, dip yourself in the hot spring to ease your muscle pains. Overnight at

Day 11 (Month 1): PORING (B)
Proceed for jungle walk to Langganan Waterfall (approximately 05 hours return walk) and learn
some of the bird species found only in Sabah. Thereafter proceed to Orangutan Rehabilitation
Centre to view feeding of Orangutan and continue to trek further to track wildlife in the
sanctuary. Follow one of the many trails that lead up to the canopy walkway (42m above the
forest floor) to observe wildlife on the canopy. Rest of the day you are free to take a dip in one
of the soothing, steaming hot mineral springs set in beautifully landscaped gardens. Overnight

Day 12 (Month 1): PORING / KUNDASANG / MESILAU (B/D)
Check out and transfer to Kinabalu Park HQ to register for mountain climb and therafter
transfer to Mesilau sub-station to check-in accommodation. Rest of the day explore mountain
trails and discover the many species of orchids, pitcher plants, birds, insects and butterflies with
your guide. Overnight stay at Bishop's Head Hostel
Day 13 (Month 1): TREKKING / PANAR LABAN STATION (B/PL/D)
After breakfast, meet mountain guide and begin your trekking that will take approximately 6-7
hours. Arrive at Laban Rata station and check in mountain hut and rest of the day you are free
to explore the surrounding. Overnight stay at the dormitory mountain hut
Day 14 (Month 1): PARK HQ / KUNDASANG (S/B/L)
Wake up as early as 2am and to complete the final ascend to the summit with torchlight. The
climb will take about 2-3 hours. Witness the majestic sunrise and magnificient views from the
highest point, the Low's Peak. Retrace your footstep Laban Rata Guesthouse for breakfast, then
to Timpohon Gate and park HQ. After lunch, a short transfer to your accommodation and
check-in. Overnight at Rina Lodge - dormitory or similar
Day 15 (Month 1): KUNDASANG / KIULU / KOTA KINABALU (B/BBQ L)
Check out and transfer to Kiulu for whitewater rafting activities. Raft through scenic countryside
view. Enjoy BBQ lunch at the riverbank before returning to Kota Kinabalu and check in.

Day 16 (Month 1): KOTA KINABALU (B)
Breakfast at home. Rest of the day you are free on your own activities. Overnight stay at Nest

Day 17 (Month 1): KOTA KINABALU / TAMBUNAN (B/L/D)
After breakfast, check out and hop on bus to Tambunan District. On arrival, check in
accommodation and rest of the day follow daily activities of the native locals i.e. soccer,
badminton, fishing, planting, frog catching, etc. Overnight at Uncle Amir's Home or similar
Day 18 : TAMBUNAN (B/L/D)
After breakfast, proceed to Rafflesia Centre in search for the biggest flower in the world. On
arrival at the centre, gegin to trek 2-3 hours and if you are lucky you may see rafflesia
blooming. Thereafter transfer to bamboo village and mingle with the natives as you walk
around their village. After traditional lunch, transfer to Mahua Waterfalls for swimming in the
natural pool. Return to base and rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at Uncle Amir's Home

Day 19: TAMBUNAN / KENINGAU / LAGUD SEBRANG (B/L/D)
After breakfast, check out and hop on transport to Tenom District via Keningau District in the
interior. On arrival, begin to explore Malaysia's Biggest Agricultural Park. Check in
accommodation and rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight at Park Hostel
Day 20: LAGUD SEBRANG AGRICULTURAL PARK (B/L/D)
After breakfast, explore the park on bicycle and learn some of the amazing plants on earth
found only in Sabah. When in fruit season, enjoy eating tropical fruits.tour Malaysia's biggest
Agriculture Park and get to know the local fruits trees, flowering, medicinal or edible plants.
After lunch, we continue to visit the local coffee factory and rest of the day, touring native
villages found nearby. Overnight stay at park hostel
Day 21: LAGUD SEBRANG / ULU KIMANIS (B/L/D)
Check out and hop on bus for overland drive over the Crocker Range National Park to reach Ulu
Kimanis. On arrival at the site, briefing on do's and don'ts before check-in. In the late
afternoon, join our tele-match for exercise. Overnight Utan Paradise Jungle Camp
Day 22: CROCKER RANGE NATIONAL PARK (B/L/D)
After breakfast, pack your clothings and begin jungle trekking in the thick tropical rainforest.
Learn some basic jungle survival skills and idectifying medicinal plants. Overnight camping

Pack your stuff and return to based camp. Rest of the day you are free. Overnight at Utan
Paradise Jungle Camp
Day 24: ULU KIMANIS / MAMUTIK ISLAND (B/L/D)
Breakfast at lodge. Check-out and transfer to Kota Kinabalu. Proceed to Jesselton Point ferry
terminal for boat shuttle to Mamutik Island. Camp set up and free on your own activities.
Overnight camping
Day 25: MAMUTIK ISLAND (B/L/D)
After breakfast, boat shuttle to Gaya Island for guided jungle walk and learn the many
medicinal plants found along the way. Boat transfer to Sapi Island for lunch before returning to
Mamutik Island. Overnight camping
Day 26: KOTA KINABALU / FAREWELL (B/L/D)
After lunch, return to the mainland and transfer to accommodation. Rest of the day you are free
at leisure. 6pm onward, gather around for BBQ dinner, sing along and enjoy the evening

Day 27: DEPARTURE (B)
Check out and transfer to KKIA
